Dear Diary
Today I feel hard work and perseverance pays! This
is my first victory as a debater and I owe a lot to my teacher and my friends.
The day I was asked to register my name for the competition,
I was unsure of my ability to face an audience. It was my teacher who
encouraged me to write the debate and practice. She said that I had the
potential to write and I simply lacked confidence. I spent hours rehearsing my
speech and my friends took turns to listen to me and helped me to prepare for
the rebuttal round. Today, when I walked on the stage I recalled the words of
my teacher, “It is a brilliant piece of work.” I did my best and to receive the
huge round of applause at the end was an incredible experience.
I can see myself as a good speaker in life but not
without a sense of commitment and perseverance.
Good night diary.
Good night diary.
Arun
