Posters are of two kinds:

1) Awareness posters

2) Event posters

Features:

Title: Should be displayed in bold and catchy letters at the top. It should communicate the subject and the purpose.

Simple and precise Language: Too much of text keep the readers off from reading, while crisp messages, put across in simple words, conveys the message effectively.

Better to use short phrases.

Creativity in terms of design and content: imagination and originality in terms of presentation of the facts and the message draw the readers and motivate them to read on.

Balanced layout: The text and the graphics should be properly spaced in a poster.

Appealing presentation: use simple illustrative graphics or sketches

Catchy slogan or a jingle: A simple verse in rhyme condenses the message.
